@Jo But I love seeing new takes on games, but it sucks when someone with a legit new idea like PUBG (it really isn't the same as previous deatgmachtes. Closest I can think of is DayZ, and even then that isn't close) gets their lunch eaten by a cash in.

@Jo I think it predates the commercial release, but not the free ARMA3 mod or the consulting work he did putting the same mode into another gane

@Jo Sorry, ARMAII mod. DayZ: Player Unknowns Battleground. Came out in 2013.

@Jo H1Z1 had a similar mode, before PUBG standalone, but they hired him as a consultant.

@Jo Looks like the Rust deathmatch plugin camev out in 2014, a year after his Amra 2 mod.

Likely is also less exact? As in, both Fortnite and Pubg use 100 person matches, circular shrinking areas, and are dropped from a plane travelling a linear path at a user defined point and you parachute down.

Plus footnote: BR didn't start development until after PUBG got big.
