I didn't even realise that they'd been bought out by Bayer last year and the brand mothballed.
@Jo i actually remember a local news report mentioning roundup as a bayer product relatively soon after the merger happened.
and, to be honest, i'm kinda indifferent about the whole thing. on one hand, monsanto does deserve scrutiny over stuff like patents and such, but on the other, it also feels like a lot of other criticism comes not from people who have valid reasons to oppose gm food or pesticides, but from folks who just think natural always equals better.
Well, Bayer just got forced to shell out $2bn to a couple who got cancer from using Roundup.
@Jo yeah, saw the article. i wonder what evidence/reasons they had for the ruling, since apparently the e.p.a. considers it safe?
either way, it's weird.
