There's going to be an eventual future where people will learn that media capacities were a resticing factor of album lengths and will find that wild.

@Canageek I was thinking about this thanks to an album that had a reissue with bonus tracks, but one of the original tracks needed to be shortened to fit everything on the disc.
That album got a digital reissue on Bandcamp a few years ago that included both versions of that track.
@Jo I sometimes think about sound engineers who had the very specific skill of cramming as much material as possible on a vinyl record without compromising sound quality too much, and I wonder what they got to once the move to digital was more or less complete
